Heres to all the money boxes that will be emptied after the final round of the British Championships 02/10/2011

Well where do i start as I've said before this track is brutal there were dead bikes everywhere and the weather was scortching too hot for racing. Josh heads into this the final round in 3rd 3points behind Jamie and 23 behind Frazer so he has a lot to do

Qualifying-- Josh heads out looks comfortable and qualifies 3rd in class nice one and there is only 0.248s between the top three

Moto 1-- Josh gets the class hole shot and is behind three hybrids with Jamie & Frazer behind he fights with a Hybrid and gets past him and puts some distance between himself and the two other boys he looks really comfortable. But then in the the 4th lap he doesn't come around when he should and he is stuck over the far side of the track, We get the bike over to Ed's and he shakes his head so Josh gets a DNF and a early bath. Adam James also dnf's three of the Hybrids dnf and I think Murray Graham broke a bone in his wrist

The race finishes

1st---Jamie  2nd Murray  3rd Connor   4th Frazer

The rest of the days racing is very hard due to the weather.

The overall on the day

1st--Frazer  2nd--Connor   3rd--Jamie  4th--Murray  5th--Adam  6th--Josh

With the final Championship standings

1st--Frazer  2nd--Jamie  3rd--Josh  4th--Connor  5th--Adam  6th--Murray

Well done to all winners and loosers

Round 9 Wroxton

25/09/2011

The finalle

Josh heads into this round on the back of a win at Cullham and is 31 points in front but its not over yet. We speak to Josh about the options (does he go steady or does he go for it a win in the first moto which will secure it and then we can relax especially me) its up to him.

Practice-- The 250's are out first for practice Josh heads out in 2nd place for two laps on a very wet and sticky track and he gives us the thumbs up.

Moto 1-- The 250's are out second after the Experts so the track is in better shape he doesn't have his usual good start and is 7th off the line, 5th in class and behind two faster Hybrids so is he taking the steady option or is he going for gold. It soon becomes apparent that he's going for gold he slowly but surely moves through the field passing racers lap by lap untill lap six when he's in 2nd place behind a Hybrid but he's 1st in class all he needs to do now is stay there for four laps easier said than done in this class. But Josh does it beating Frazer by just under four seconds and also getting the fastest lap even faster than the quicker class of Hybrids securing the championship.

WELL DONE JOSH

Moto--2 Josh should now be taking it easy with nothing more to prove. I don't think so he has another bad start and here we go again 5th off the line and 3rd in class behind Frazer and Harry by lap four he's managed to pass Frazer and has now set his sights on Harry by now the two lads have passed the one Hybrid and the other has had problems so its Harry 1st Josh 2nd and for four laps it's relentless there's nothing between them, but all credit to Harry he keeps his cool despite Josh's efforts. It finishes Harry 1st Josh 2nd with only 0.5 seconds between them at the flag and Josh gets the fastest lap of the race again UNBELIEVEABLE

Josh chases Frazer

Now he's after Harry

Moto 3-- The last race of the day (I don't think I can take more of this) Josh needs a 2nd to win the day. He has a 6th off the line and is at the back of the front runners behind Harry, Elliott, Adam and Frazer every one of these lads capable of winning this race but Adam takes a tumble in lap 6 he carries on racing but has bent his steering stem, now Josh is battling with Elliott who is not an easy boy to pass and Frazer is scrapping with Harry ahead, Josh manages to pass Elliott in the final lap and it finishes

1-Harry

2-Frazer

3-Josh

4-Elliot

Harry gets the win on the day with Josh 2nd and Frazer gets 3rd. Frazer gets the fastest lap with Josh 2nd fastest 0.045 behind with all top 5 riders having a fastest lap in the 1.46s

NOW THATS UNBELIEVEABLE RACING

HARRY         FRAZER         JOSH

LOOK OUT ADULTS

THERE MOVING UP NEXT YEAR

Paul Winrow 11 times British Champion congratulates Josh on his

CHAMPIONSHIP WIN

& A special thanks to EDR

Round 8 Culham

04/09/2011

Josh gets two 1sts & a 2nd but not without the fantastic help of his sponsor and engine builder Ed Davies who worked miracles between motos 1 & 2 and the generosity of Josh's opponents THANK YOU ALL

We arrived in plenty of time, the paddock had moved to the bottom field on the banks of the Thames. The view of the track was much better and we had the added race of the side by sides (interesting)

Practice -- Josh looked comfortable with the track and returned to the pits with the famous thumbs up

Moto 1----Josh holeshots the race with Harry in 2nd and Adam 3rd and Frazer has had a bad start, Harry stops in the 1st lap with probs Adam moves into 2nd and it stays very much the same till the end with Josh getting the fastest lap and the win. When Josh returns he explains somethings wrong, with further investigation the head gaskets gone (bad memories are flooding back) with a quick discussion with Ed before his race the decision is made to change the gasket as he's got one in spares, we strip the bike down ready for him, and when his race is over we start but then as we take out the studs one has snapped leaving part of it in the casing with no spare studs we are stuck. We ask all the 250cc racers if the have a spare with no luck so we decide to put the bike together and race and hope for the best                                       As we return to the bike Andy Downes has had a look and found one, but now we have to get the snapped bit out of the casing Ed lifts the barrel up as far as he can and we try to extract the stud using the top half of the stud to unscrew the the bottom half out of the casing (my idea modest or what) and guess what it worked but by now time is getting on we have a bit of luck one of the side x sides has broken down and the 50cc race is being run again which gave us enough time to get Josh down to the line for moto 2

Moto 2--- Josh gets another holeshot with Adam 2nd Harry 3rd & Elliot 4th Josh settles the bike is fine and he finishes 12.4 secs infront of Adam with Harry and Elliot fighting for 3rd & 4th spot. With Harry getting 3rd by just over 1 sec and Josh gets another fastest lap

Moto 3--- Josh and Harry get off the line together side by side going up the hill but Josh has got the inside line which forces Harry wide and gets another holeshot now Harry is flying and is pushing Josh all the way he even manages to get along side him in a few places but Josh holds him off untill 3 corners from the flag when Josh shuts off a tiny bit too early and Harry rails around the outside and passes Josh and they finish with Josh 1.097 secs behind Harry well done lads.

Josh has now extended his lead in the Championship from 3 points to 31 after dropping their worst round, but with all the top 3 riders being 1st in the Championship at some stage this year it's far from over yet, and with only one round left ??????????????????????

BritishChampionships

Round 3 Dean Moor

24/7/2011

This is one of the best natural tracks we have raced at and this being only our second visit, Josh was realy looking forward to it. Josh is running 3rd in the British Behind Frazer and Jamie two very quick lads, The line up is of eight lads every one of them able to win these races. The venue is situated in Cumbria in beautifull countryside, the weather was excellent and the track was in top shape.

Qualifying---Josh heads off for qualifying and is in amoungst the std's as they are all out together Josh heads back to the pits and has qualified in 5th not good at all. But he is pleased that he has cleared the step down and the big step up double.

Moto 1-- Josh picks his gate in 10th place 5th in class and behind five Hybrids (really not good well he should have qualified better) He gets off the line 3rd in class behind Warren and Frazer with Jamie, Murray and Adam close behind the racing is furious Adam manages to jump past Josh on the table top, but  Josh jumps past him on the next step up thats how close these lads are. In lap four Adam doesn't come into view (he's had an off) and is out of the running so its a three bike race Warren, Frazer ,Josh.

Josh tries the shorter route with Warren in front & Frazer in 2nd

The pace is furious and Josh is trying different lines to get past Frazer to no avail, but on the last lap Frazer goes wide on a table top and Josh jumps past him, and is after Warren but has left it too late and he finishes 2nd, 1 second behind

Josh is past Frazer and sets his sights on Warren

Moto 2-- Josh has another 3rd off the line behind Warren & Adam they both start to pull away but Josh settles into the race with Frazer not far behind. In lap five Warren lands after a big jump and it seems his shock has given way promoting Josh to second, and is drawing Adam in lap by lap untill in lap nine he passes him and Josh is 1st, with Frazer getting past Adam shortly after it's not over yet

Josh stays out front and beats Frazer by 2 seconds even getting the fastest lap of the race in his last lap (lap 11)  top class racing. Josh finishes the day 1st over all and clawed back 5 points on Frazer and 11 points on Jamie, with two more rounds to go who knows who will be British Champion ( I DON'T)

Round 7 Milton park

17/7/2011

This must be one of the most technical tracks in the UK supercross, but out doors and is brutal on the bikes as we found out at cost. The 250s are doing qualifying and all running together. as Josh gets ready to go down to the line the bike cuts out and won't start so we look over it and nothing obvious seems to be wrong we change the spark plug but no joy then as Josh plays with the kill switch it fires. Josh has an idea and it works so he gets off in time panic over for now. As they start practice there are two yellow flags up in different parts of the track and medical assistance is needed Anna Dawson in the 250 stock has come off a table top quite bad, but later we found out she was only bruised and after her bike is repaired she is back out racing brave girl. but qualifying is cancelled and the race order is as they finished the the last race at Enstone so Josh gets 3rd on the gate.

Moto 1  Josh is off the line 1st in class behind two Hybrids and is away but one mistake lets Harry through and Harry starts to pull away but towards the later stages Josh settles into his rhythm and starts to catch Harry but he has left it too late and Josh finishes 2nd

Moto 2  Josh is 2nd off the line behind Harry and infront of Jamie and Jamie puts on the preasure but Josh holds on untill the last lap and Jamie gets past him and Josh finishes 3rd

Moto 3  Josh has a bad start but as they come to the 3rd corner Frazer topples his bike and Harry and Josh swerve to miss him now he is behind Jamie, Adam and Harry. And They are all flying especially Adam who must have sprouted wings he is doing the massive table top at the far end of the track. Josh settles into a pace and manages to finnish 3rd again which gives him 2nd overall on the day and enough points to put him at the top of the championship table but its early days there are two more rounds and its too close to call. Excellent racing from these youngsters in the 250 mods

Thanks to Rob McDonnell and Nigel Offley for the pics

Round 6 Enstone

19/07/2011

On arrival on sat we were in the middle of heavy rain so it was going to be messy racing (how wrong we were) and for the first time Nora have introduced qualifying for the 250's as well as putting all the 250's out together interesting

Qualifying  It was very interesting indeed with the 5mins free Josh used it wisely to create a space and by doing so qualified 3rd behind two Hybrids expectidly so but more importantly 1st in class which gave him a good gate.

Moto 1  Josh gets the class holeshot and is flying until he doesn,t come into view when he should and when he does he's in 19th place right at the back of the stds & stock, with a lot to do he starts his charge although the stds & stocks are not as quick as the mods they still have to be passed and Enstone is not the widest of tracks but Josh manages to finish 3rd in class and explains how he got stuck on a big burm

Moto 2 Josh gets another good start and is in the lead but he makes the same mistake again but this time comes off the bike and bends the steering stem and manages to finnish in 3rd again despite having problems with his steering (some people learn the hard way)

Moto 3  With the steering stem straightened as best we could (thanks to the help of Nigel Bates) the last time we had to do that was at this track and after Josh was taken to A&E after a massive off so we were hoping history would't repeat itself. When the gate dropped he gets off the line in 1st place and rode like a pro despite what all the other riders could throw at him not one mistake and it was tight down to the wire and Josh finishes 1st and secured 3rd overall despite the first two motos.

British Championships

Duns Scotland

12/06/2011

We arrive at the track roughly 2.30 after about 6.5 hrs on the road and as we got closer the weather got worse and with no caravan in tow we weren't looking forward to the night. It stopped raining after we finished setting up, Josh walked the track (very keen) and "its very soft up to his ankles in places" so all we hope is they don't cancell and the rain holds off.

So after a good nights sleep (not) we set about getting ready for racing

Josh goes through his race morning routine

Qualifying  Josh was right it was very soft it wasn't racing (Josh's words) it was a matter of keep going and don't stop or you won't get going again Josh manages some how manages to qualify 2nd in class behind Frazer and it takes 1 hr to clean

Moto 1     Josh gets the class holeshot and is on his way the track has dried out nicely he pulls out a lead but towards the end of the race Frazer starts to draw him in but josh starts to hold a steady gap untill the very last lap when Josh gets stuck in a rut and Frazer passes him. Josh gets going again in 2nd and finishes there with the 2nd fastest lap.

Moto 2  Josh has a bad start about 5th in class ahead of Jamie Morgan they have a good scrap for a few laps swapping places a few times untill Jamie gets the better of josh and starts to pull away and Josh finnishes 4th.

Josh finishes Joint 2nd with Warren Allen on 40 pts but as Warren had the better result in the last race he gets the 2nd  and Josh gets 3rd all in all a much better result than round 1 at Silverstone and Josh moves up to 3rd with Frazer 1st and Jamie 2nd

  Round 5 Milton Malsor

15/05/2011

Josh collects his spot prize From Gary for best youth rider at Pontrilas

This is a new venue to Nora and is run by the ACU. It is very technical with big jumps, doubles, trebles, whoops and very tight turns.

Practice. The track has been watered and is very wet but he seems happy enough

Moto 1

Josh gets the Class holeshot behind a hybrid with Harry on his tail They both get past the hybrid in the 2nd lap and the fight is on Josh is making mistakes and Harry is closing they are fighting tooth and nail neither of them giving an inch Harry is preasurising Josh. But Josh holds his nerve and line leaving Harry no choice but to settle for 2nd place only 0.8 secs behind and also getting the fastest lap 0.351 secs ahead of Josh

Moto 2

Harry Gets the holeshot and Josh is 4th off the line behind Elliot and Sam. Sam and Josh get past Elliot on the 4th lap now Josh sets his sights on Sam he closes the gap but can't get past he even hits him as he gets close but Sam isn't moving he holds his lines well and all the while Harry is getting further away Josh finishes 3rd

Moto 3

Josh gets a terrific holeshot by powering around the outside and is away and stays in the lead for 3 laps but he seems to be struggling and Sam gets past he's slowing up and the rest are catching in the 5th lap Harry, Elliot, and Frazer get past him relegating him to 5th in the 6th he manages to pass Elliot only to stall the bike and Elliot passes him again the race finishes

1st    Fraze  2nd   Sam  3rd    Harry  4th    Elliot  5th    Josh

Josh finishes  joint 3rd with Frazer but as Frazer had the win in moto3 he gets the podium well done boys this class is the talk of the pits and it looks like its going down to the last race   FANTASTIC STUFF !!

NORA MX ROUNDS 3&4 PONTRILAS

  31/4/11-1/5/11

Josh Bags himself  some good points & also

Youth rider of the weekend chosen by

Garry Moore

With a spot prize of £50

With the head gasket done its back to Nora and with the championship table showing Josh in 4th place 17 points off 1st and 9 points off 3rd, he has a lot of work to do but is coming into this round with a 1st in round 2 so he should be up for it

Practice

Josh looks very quick and is happy

Moto 1

Josh is off the line in 2nd behind a hybrid but 1st in class and after 4 laps takes the lead and stays there finishing 15's infront of the next mod he's flying

Moto 2

This race is a carbon copy of the 1st is Josh finding his form at last

Moto 3

I think we spoke too soon it all starts off well and after 3 laps he is 1st but then he starts to drop off the pace and mistakes creep in and one by one three boys get past him relegating him to 4th but luckily enough his hard work in the first two races see him to a 1st over all.

Day 2 Moto 1

After a good nights rest it's back to the racing and its exactly the same as the first two races the day before with a very quick pace fast and furious and he comes in 1st

Moto 2

Josh starts off really well but as the day before he drops off the pace and finishes 4th again after a quiet chat with him he's complaining of arm pump.

Moto 3

What a finalle Josh gets the race holeshot and is some how going for it. He looks as if he's on a mission and all the time there is the fight of the weekend going on no more than 4's behind him and closing. While giving Josh encouragement from the sides his hand slips off the bars, he manages to keep control and fight on and finishes 1st only 2's ahead off the rest.

Josh has 2nd over all and 1 point behind 1st on the day and moves up to 3rd in the championship

4 points off 1st and 1 point behind 2nd WHAT A WEEKENDS RACING this class is extremely close and is full of top class riders!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The chequered flag a nice end to a hectic weekend

  WELL DONE JOSH

DREADGERS MX PONTSHAEN 24/4/11

After Josh's bad round at Silverstone we decided to take him to Dreadgers for a days much needed practice at a track in Pontshaen a natural track with steep hill climbs and even steeper drop offs.

When we arive we are informed that as the 250cc class has only 5 entries they are going to put them in with the adult C's (clubman) different but interesting.

Moto 1

Wit 15 Adults on 450cc's and 5 Youth on 250cc'S it's going to be something to watch. Josh gets off the line in approx 7th (not bad) and starts to push through but all the hard work is lost as he comes up to the steep hills as he can't keep up with the 450's but he keeps at it and finishes a very respectable 4th over all and 1st in class

Moto 2

Josh gets a similar start but he now has a feel for the track and is pushing hard and with 2 laps to go is in 2nd and chasing 1st but runs out of time (excellent)

Moto 3

Josh notices something is wrong on the line and on further inspection it seems the head gasket has gone so we pull him off (much to Josh's dissapointment) and its off to the main man Ed (EDR) who does us proud

A GOOD DAYS PRACTICE

ROUND 1 BRITISH QUAD-X CHAMPIONSHIPS

SILVERSTONE 17/4/11

Round 1 Silverstone and what can we say not much Josh qualifies in 5th not too bad as there isn't 0.5 of a second between 3rd 4th & 5th but that was as good as it got Josh just couldn't settle into a rhythm even his starts weren't good. and with a 7th in moto 1 and a 6th in moto 2 giving him a 6th over all he has a lot to do in the coming meetings

But as they say THATS RACING!!!

ROUND 2 NORA MX

WROXTON 3/4/11

Here we are at Wroxton a track Josh likes, But now its being run backwards so we'll soon see if he still likes it.

Practice- Josh gets back to the pits and is happy with everything.

Moto 1- Josh gets second off the line but 1st in class. He follows a Hybrid for 2 laps and then gets past him and so does Frazer now these 2 mods are pulling away and the pace is frantic, then Josh makes a mistake and Frazer is through like a shot Josh tries to get past him but Frazer holds his lines and pace leaving Josh with 2nd place. the fastest lap went to Frazer and Josh has the 2nd fastest .5 of a second behind him

Moto 2  Josh is second again but gets the class holeshot now he chases the Hybrid. He chases the Hybrid for 7 laps before he gets past him to finish 1st by 4.5 seconds and also getting the fastest lap and by now these mods are really scrapping for every point (fantastic racing)

Moto 3- Talking to Josh on the line he points out that he needs to finnish in the top 3 to clinch 1st overall. As the boys go down to the line the heavens open turning a really fast track into a skating rink. From the top of the hill you can here the bikes rev up and as the gates drop we just wait to see who emerges first and sure enough Josh has his 3rd holeshot of the day but this one is special he even beats all the Hybrids. They head down the track but when they emerge Josh is back in 6th he must have spun out.so now he needs to ride for the victory, after 2 laps he gets to 5th, in the next lap he gets to 4th and so on in the next but by now the top 2 boys have pulled away. Josh starts to reel them in but has to settle for 3rd and again has the fastest lap ( His best race of the day)

QUAD EVENTS UK

BRITISH QUAD-CROSS ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIPS ROUND 1  27/3/11

After talking to Josh about Silverstone we decided he needed some bike time and what better practice than a race. But this race is an enduro, cross country event with a newly formed club (very well run as well keep up the good work) In the meantime Josh had started training for this 2 hour 60 miles of racing was it too much?

Josh got off the line in 5th and stayed with the group in which were some top quality enduro riders, after 2 laps he had progressed to 2nd, where he stayed until he pitted for fuel. Rejoining the race in 6th but as other riders pitted Josh moved up places and after 2hrs he finished 2nd which was an excellent days racing. He also had 3rd fastest lap of the day.

Now he's looking forward to Wroxton!

ROUND 1 NORA MX   20/3/11

 SILVERSTONE

So here we are at one of the most famous places in the uk for Motorsport, for the first Quad x event to be held here.

Practice--  All goes according to plan and a tweek on the front shox is needed

Moto 1-- Josh gets a decent start 4th in class but as he approaches the first corner he comes to a hault, what can be wrong? but  thankfully he gets going again but has dropped 8 places and now has some work to do he manages to claw back 4 places but then seems to drop off the pace and finishes 8th in class. Back in the pits he explains that he stalled the bike and is complaining of thumb cramp so we strip the throttle assembly and oil the cable (and it seems better)

Moto 2--Josh gets the holeshot (much better) in class and 3rd off the line but seems to struggle with the pace (not good) he looses too many places and finishes 6th in class by now Josh is not Happy

Moto 3--Josh gets 2nd off the line in class we are pleased but the same thing happens again and he finishes 6th again giving him 6th o/all  a bit dissapointing to say the least but as they say THATS RACING sorry for the lack of photos (too busy)
